The Day Trip to Sarangkot is an ideal hike for viewing the majestic Himalayan range. You will enjoy spectacular views of Dhaulagiri I, Annapurna, Manaslu, and the magnificent Mt. Machhapuchare (Fishtail). Sarangkot village is perched on the northwest of Pokhara and offers enchanting views of Pokhara Valley and Phewa Lake. This region is heavily settled and farmed.

The trail passes through beautiful countryside inhabited by diverse communities, primarily the Gurung people. Gurungs are famous worldwide as Gurkha soldiers, yet in their villages they are shepherds and farmers, maintaining traditional lifestyles.

This trek provides a wonderful taste of trekking in Nepal and a true experience of the grandeur of the Himalayas. It can be enjoyed all year round.

Experience: Suitable for all levels of hikers

Departure: Usually at 8:00 AM (customizable on request). For sunrise hikes: Winter – 5:30 AM, Summer – 4:15 AM

Meeting Point: Hotel pickup included; drive to the trail start at the edge of Pokhara City. Return ends at Sedi Bagar with drop-off to your hotel

Total Duration: Short version – 3 to 4 hours including transfers; Longer version – 5 to 6 hours depending on pace, stops, and photos

Good hiking shoes, water, hat, sunscreen, sunglasses, and depending on the season, a rain jacket and insect repellent.
